Allegations Too Horific To Ignore...

In light of some information that has come to the fore front my campaign has had no choice but to make an ad. Not an attack ad mind you, simply an ad to point out in no uncertain terms what kind of a man and by proxy what kind of a mayor Steve Goffin will be. I must warn you this is a bit graphic.

Please vote for me on October 31st. For the children.

Same Old Tricks

Hello Staten Islanders,

I was hoping my first message to you as a candidate for mayor of the North Shore of Staten Island could be a positive one. A message about strengthening our community, about making things better. It would seem my rivals over at the Goffin campaign would much rather throw mud on my sterling reputation. That's fine I suppose I think Staten Islanders want a more high minded campaign. I believe Staten Islanders would rather be lifted up than dragged down to the doldrums of political attacks.

I am running for mayor because I love my community. Sure I love a lot of albums Pitchforkmedia supports, can Steve Goffin honestly say he doesn't. Does he not find himself listening to Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot which received a perfect 10.0 on Pitchfork? I suppose Steve Goffin doesn't know either way because he has decided it is better to limit the amount of information he has.

The other charge is that I love MySpace. Well ladies and gentlemen it's true I spend a lot of time on MySpace, but much of that time is spent reaching out to you my community and the people who make everyday of this campaign worth while. On the other hand how are we to trust someone who puts his web-presence in the hands of others. Will he also put the well fare of his community in the hands of others.

I'd rather not be brought in to this fray. I hope we can lift this campaign up to a higher standard and talk about the issues. I hope that someday soon me and my competitor might meet and look each other eye to eye and know that we are not fighting for ourselves but for our communities.

Thank you and god bless.

I'm Mp3Jing This Saturday at Cargo!

So, the second Saturday of every month I play music at Cargo Cafe. Cargo is a wonderful bar and eatery that has a late night menu and an excellent clientele.

I start at 11pm and I go really late. Plus it's a five minute walk to the Staten Island Ferry!

Cargo Cafe 120 Bay St Staten Island, NY.

Murray Record Release Extravaganza This Saturday!

Murray is Staten Island's finest rock band probably ever. They are a well oiled killing machine with an excellent post-punk/new wave sound that is referential without being pastiche. I'm very find of their new EP, I was lucky enough to be among the first to hear it. You can hear some of it at their MySpace.

This Saturday the band will begin selling the record at a big showcase taking place at Staten Island's own Alice Austin House. It's going to be a hell of a show with cool art, DJs, a short film, and a performance from the band. I highly recomend you go. Sadly I don't have the chance as my cousin's wedding is that day. Go in my place!

Didn't get Sonic Youth tickets? I can assure you your average Sonic Youth fan could certainly fall in love with this band. Plus when was the last time you explored Staten Island? Probably never huh?

"You Can Dance If You Want To..."

Tonight should be fun.

At Martini. Around 10:30ish PM til late. Me DJing dancey stuff, indie stuff, rap music about dealing drugs and getting shot, strange left field poppie stuff in the newly spacious and luxurious back room. Beers on the newly installed tap; Newcastle and Magic Hat. Paragraph playing live. No cover. Come down.

Your mom is...

(o snap!)

Martini Red 372 Van Duzer (corner of Beach) SI, NY.

Still not convinced none Islanders...
The Staten Island Ferry is free, they have 16 oz. beers to keep you company for a meger $2.75; the trip takes about 25 minutes and boats come every half hour, until 12:30*. To get to Martini Red you take the 78 Bus from the Ferry to the corner of Beach and Van Duzer. It's very convenient ya know.

*(When they leave Staten Island every hour on the hour and they leave Manhattan every hour on the half hour.)
