Is Marnie Stern The Future of Rock and Roll?

Finger tapping noise-pop-prog darling Marnie Stern had her record release part last night. She was amazing and the crowd seemed enwrapped in a way you wouldn't expect to see for guitar virtuosity with an iPod back up. But it all made sense if you heard the sound spiralling out of the PA at Cake shop. Marnie Stern had arrived.
As per the question in the title, Rock and Roll doesn't deserve one Marnie Stern let alone a whole future full of them. Marnie's new album In Advance of the Broken Arm, is the album of the year thus far(and yes I've heard and enjoy Neon Bible). It's like alot of things you may have heard(Deerhoof, Rush, Langley School Music Project) and yet like nothing you've ever imagined. It's an album to chew on and pour over, it's proved itself over these past few weeks to be a remarkably rewarding relisten.

Anywhoo, I just had to get a few more inches of bandwith dedicated to this woman early on. I'll leave the extensive show review and album recomendation to my more prolific brother, he is reponsible for this photo as well as the only search result for Marnie Stern on You Tube. Check him out, we're so proud.
