Louis C.K. Is A Very Funny Fellow, Right

Louis CK is the director/writer of the comedy classic Pootie Tang. He has also played large parts in shaping the sensibility of Late Night With Conan O'Brien and The Chris Rock Show. He's also a top notch stand up who's absurdist observational style has influenced many hot young comics today. (I see similarities between him and Eugene Mirman and Demitri Martin.)

Now he's made a TV show for the HBO. I don't have the HBO but I oft times wish I did. Hopefully someday I won't live with my parents(aka Nazis) who refuse to have HBO. Until then I hope that my friends with premium channels are ok with me utilizing their resorces. Check out the preview of the show Lucky Louie and lots of other fun at Louis' website Here.

Danielson @ Northsix 5/13/05

The control with which Danielson approached this performance was surprising and oddly appropriate. They approached the night with a sense of proffesionalism and "focus" (as my friend Ron Hill repeatedly mentioned) that might surprise early detractors not to mention the average freak folk fan boy. The music was the thing and the music was is (as anyone who's heard Ships knows) amazing. With few bells and whistles (accept when there were actually bells and whistles) the show impressed.

I've got two very similar pictures. from the show I am in the process of learning how to work my new camera please bare with me.

Today's "Best Song Ever"

Liars "A Visit From Drum"

This is the sound of Ennio Morricone taking the brown acid. This song stomps with ramshackle guitar parts and tribal drums. This is Liars circa 2006 but it's them at there most subtle and tastefully artsy (as apposed to them at their abrassive garish nightmare peeks). A visit from drum could almost be a tension reducer in a DJ set if it wasn't for all of it's crust and white noise.
