I've Recontexualized My Radiohead!

So an interesting feature of iTunes is the ability to shuffle based on words. For example if I shuffle the word "Milk" I will be treated to a smattering of Neutral Milk Hotel, Nirvana's "Milk It," selections from Caribou's The Milk of Human Kindness and Joanna Newsome's The Milk-Eyed Mender, and Beck's "Milk and Honey" amongst others. The point? There's alot of songs with "Milk" in them.

This feature can afford hours of interesting juxtapositions. My favorite being taking one band and taking their albums and jumbling them together. Cross album pollination can be a disjointing experience. Surprisingly however Radiohead just so happens to work. You find songs from Ok Computer blend into Amnesiac surprisingly well "Everything In It's Right Place" bleeds into "Let Down" like it was almost meant to be. I encourage you to recontexualize your favorite bands. Let it make or break them. If it doesn't work well discard them from your iPod and collection. Call them two dimensional and go buy Kid A. You should... Nay you must put your music to this test!
