Though their curmudgeon-y disposition still rears it's hilariously bitter head on occasion the Friedberger's new Bitter Tea is mostly sweet as shit love songs. "Waiting To Know You" is a melodic thrill filled with layered squishy synths and Eleanor mopeing about a man she has never met. It's almost "twee," thankfully you still hear the bite in Eleanor's throat and Matt can't let the music float along wihtout throwing a bunch of disorienting curve balls.
